| BOTOX |
|---|
What problems can Botox address?Crows feet around the eyes Frown lines Forehead lines Excessive sweating – underarms, hands and forehead Jaw clenching /TJM Facial slimming | Does the injection hurt?A very tiny needle is all that is needed for the procedure. Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from the injection | How long does it take?Between 15-30 minutes depending on treatment required | | Can it be done in my lunch hour? | When will I see results?Botox starts working 3-5 days after treatment, however results take up to 10 days to take full effect. | How long does Botox© last? This depends entirely on the patient, but a single treatment of Botox© will normally be sustained for approximately 3-6 months. You will notice a gradual fading of its effects. At this point you will return to your practitioner for your next treatment | If I have Botox© once will I always have to?No. The effects are temporary, after approximately 3-6 months effects will fade and eventually the skin returns to its original appearance. However, as the muscles making the lines will not be doing so while the Botox© is working, the lines will not become as marked as they would without treatment so some long term benefits will be evident. | Does the time between procedures change? There is some evidence that the muscles that are relaxed during a treatment 'forget' the movements they were making and so with regular treatment the time between treatments should lengthen. | Is it safe?Botulism toxin is a well recognised and used drug in many different areas of medicine with a good safety record. There is no risk of contracting botulism. Facial expressions will remain the same for the most part. There is little to no recovery time after a procedure. It is safe to have multiple procedures performed | Contraindications:Any adult can be treated, except those pregnant or breastfeeding |
| FILLERS |
|---|
What problems can fillers address?Fillers can be used for: Any deep static lines Lines around mouth and nose Check Augmentation Lip enhancement | Does the injection hurt?A very tiny needle is all that is needed for the procedure. The filler we use has a local anaesthetic in it to numb the area. Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from the injection. For lip enhancement, an anaesthetic cream is applied and ice afterwards as the lips are prone to swelling. This swelling is temporary. | How long does it take?A dermal filler treatment usually takes around 30 minutes. | | Can it be done in my lunch hour? | When will I see results? Results are immediate and improve over 48 hours | How long do fillers last?Typically, the results of dermal fillers last six to nine months but this varies from one person to another. The filler is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so the lines, wrinkles, cheeks or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance without top up treatments. Most clients choose to have another treatment at around 8 months | What are dermal fillers?A dermal filler is a substance which is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and smooth out lines and wrinkles. Fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid which is naturally found in the body | Is it safe? The dermal fillers we use are extremely safe with a low incidence of allergic reaction. There is, however, a very small possibility of allergic reaction, which will be discussed with you when you visit your practitioner. You can expect some degree of redness and swelling after the treatment, which usually clears up within 1-2 days | Contraindications:Any adult except those pregnant or breastfeeding women |
| DERMAROLLER |
|---|
What problems can DermaRoller address?Atrophic scars Acne scarring Uneven skin pigmentation Dull complexion | How does it work?Dermaroller, or microneedling, is a small barrel with lots of very fine needles all around it. The needles we use are 1.5mm which are medically proven to deliver the best result. The barrel is rolled in 6 directions very quickly over the area being treated. It causes minute 'injury' to the skin and the layers below and this promotes a healing process which has been proven to generate new collagen growth and remodelling. It is a very successful treatment which has been tested and proven. It is recommended that you have a course of 4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. | Does it hurt?Dermaroller is by nature more uncomfortable than some of the other procedures we offer. For this reason we apply an anaesthetic cream to the area for 45 min before the procedure is carried out. It is uncomfortable while being done but will not hurt afterwards. | How long does it take?It depends on the area being treated but usually no more than 20 minutes. You will have to arrive 45 minutes before a treatment to have an anaesthetic cream applied to make the procedure more comfortable. | Can it be done in my lunch hour? No. Your face will be quite red for 1-2 days and we would recommend that you factor this into your lifestyle and perhaps always choose an appointment whereby you can go home or do not have any important engagements to attend immediately after or the next day. | When will I see results?Once the healing process has started the results will become evident over the next few weeks and as you have each subsequent treatment the results will improve each time. | Is it safe?It is an extremely safe procedure with recognised benefits. | ContraindicationsPregnant or breast feeding women. Any bleeding disorders. |
| CHEMICAL PEELS |
|---|
What problems can Chemical Peels address?Mild acne Hyperpigmentation Fine lines and wrinkles Enlarged pores Scarring Mature age concerns Photo induced hyperpigmentation | Does it hurt? Not at all. You may feel a tingling as the peel works but there is no pain during or after the peel. | How long does it take?It varies from person to person as drying times vary but should take no more than 30 minutes. | Can I have it in my lunch hour?Yes. There is no down time. | When will I see results? You feel fresher and rejuvenated immediately with your skin looking brighter. This will improve over the next 48 hours. You may have some flaking or drying of the skin after and a good moisturizer will be recommended. | How long will it last?We would recommend a schedule of peels of increasing intensity and once a week to start with. Once the problem has been address and improved you could then move to monthly maintenance peels. You will be fully assessed at your first consultation and a programme designed to suit your skin, your issues and your lifestyle. | Is it safe?It is a very safe treatment. We recommend a good SPF sun protector afterward as you may find you are more sensitive to sunlight whilst healing. | ContraindicationsOpen or weeping skin. Active cold sores. |
| MICRODERMABRASION |
|---|
What is Medical Microdermabrasion?Medical Microdermabrasion is a Non Surgical treatment that rejuvenates the skin by exfoliation using medical grade crystals. There are no chemicals of lasers involved. Microdermabrasion can be used on the face, back, chest, or shoulders and there is no down-time. | Medical Microdermabrasion – who is it for?Medical Microdermabrasion is a perfect treatment for anyone wanting to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, uneven skin tone, acne prone skin, whiteheads, blackheads, oily or dry skin, age spots and sun damaged skin and hyperpigmentation. | How is a Medical Microdermabrasion treatment performed?Prior to the treatment your skin will be cleaned and prepped with a specially formulated prep solution. Your eyes will be covered. A highly controlled flow of medical grade crystals is then passed over the skin using a hand held device. The crystals, delivered at high speed and directly onto the skin's surface are immediately vacuumed away by the same device. This takes the top-most layer of dead skin cells away. This exfoliation process improves the tone and texture of the skin and simultaneously reveals new skin cells hidden underneath that are soft and smooth. Additionally the underlying epidermis is stimulated by the treatment, promoting new collagen, thickening the dermis and improving the resistance to the effects of ageing. This means that your skin will look better immediately and then will rebuild and improve over time as new collagen is generated. | Will I experience any pain during my treatment?Medical Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, painless procedure. The practitioner will test the settings on your forearm before starting in order to ensure that the machine is set at the best level for you and to minimise any discomfort. The level of exfoliation and vacuum will be agreed between you and the practitioner. | How long does a Medical Microdermabrasion treatment take? The average treatment time is 20-30minutes. If combined with a skin peel this will increase to 45-60 minutes. | How often do I need to have Medical Microdermabrasion treatments? It is recommended that you undergo a course of six Medical Microdermabrasion treatments, each two weeks apart. After this, maintenance top-up treatments every four-six weeks are recommended. | Are there any special requirements after I've had my treatment?Depending on skin type, some patients may experience slight skin shedding which is a natural effect and nothing to be concerned about. Patients are advised to avoid saunas, sun beds, hot baths and vigorous exercise 24 hours after having treatment. Otherwise, normal activities can be resumed immediately and there is no down time. |
