Apprentice winner criticised for 'lack of experience'.

Medical experts have hit out at BBC’s The Apprentice after Lord Sugar chose to invest in Dr Leah Totton’s cosmetic procedures business.

The 25-year-old Northern Irish doctor who is only a year passed qualifying as a doctor, was named winner of the ninth series of the show.

Her claim that she would 'medicalise' the Non Surgical Industry by being a doctor and claiming that this is unique is far from being so. There are many highly qualified doctors working in the fireld with years of experience and training between.

Backing up Dr Hoenderkamp's concernc, professional bodies for plastic surgery and dermatology have today questioned Totton’s ability to set up and run a chain of outlets offering facial treatments.

Calling potential patients for TV Show...

Dr Hoenderkamp is working with ITV on a project for a show demonstrating how successful the treatment of pitted acne scars with fillers is.

Dr Hoenderkamp is having great success treating acne scarring with filler, even where all other treatments have failed. The treatment is quick and relatively pain free with no down time. She already has many satisfied patients, some of whom share their story on the testimonial page.

If you have pitted acne scarring and would be interested in taking part in the show and being filmed having the treatment by Dr Hoenderkamp, please contact us. Email on enquiries@nonsurgicalclinic.co.uk and if possible attach a photo.

Event preparation

One of my clients, a 30-year-old gentleman, came to see me recently regarding the acne scars on his cheeks. The scarring is shown on the left in the before and after photos. These are typical pitted acne scars and are often referred to as 'ice-pick scars'. They are sunken in and lower than the normal surface level of the skin.

Using fillers to improve pitted acne scarring

I have recently used Juvederm 2 to lift and fill pitted acne scarring with incredible success. Starting with a male patient who had pitted scarring to his cheeks that he wanted improved for some important photos, one treatment with Juvederm 2 completely erased the scars. Another female patient, who had spent over £30,000 over the years having lasers, peels and other scar treatments had three treatments with Juvederm 2 and reported that her scarring had been almost eradicated for the first time in all of these years and treatments. (See testimonial page, Ms JL).

Juvederm 2 is the lightest crosslinked filler in the Juvederm Ultra range and a skilled practitioner can inject it superficially into the scarring and lift the pitted scar out. The treatment is quick and relatively painless and the effects last for up to a year. Call for a free consultation.

Skin needling grows in popularity

Rejuvenating skin using surgical needles on a roller has been popular since its introduction in the mid 1990’s. Known under various names, Dermaroller, Collagen Induction Therapy, micro-needling and medical skin needling to name a few, the theory behind its success is that the hundreds of tiny needle punctures (made after application of local anaesthetic cream) cause injury which the body then repairs and in so doing produce collagen and elastin. This new collagen and elastin production plumps out the skin making it look more youthful with improvement of fine wrinkles and lines, stretch marks, acne scarring and general skin appearance.

Patients have to be seen face-to-face by a doctor for botox prescribing

The spotlight has turned once again on who should be prescribing and administering prescription only medications used for non-surgical procedures, such as Botox©, Vistabel© and Dysport©. Up until now, prescribing doctors, dentists and nurses could see a patient and prescribe these medications and then administer them to that patient.
